At Leming, we are driven by a strong sense of responsibility towards the society. We believe LM Social Responsibility incorporates our care for employees, community, and environment. 

Employees always come the first. We have workers from diverse places but with the same goal: striving in a city that can provide him/ her with a better living standard. Some have left their hometown since the age of 16, and most come alone. That’s why as a company, we hope to provide as best conditions as we can to care for this group. This includes our serious examination of employee canteen, team building trips paid by company, job insurance, etc. 


To build a more homy environment, we built employee apartment units and provided free housing to them. During weekends and free time, they often hang out together and become friends outside of work. We believe this social network can give them a sense of family, solidarity, and most importantly, belonging in a new city. We care for them and propose different plans to increase their living standards. 

In the holidays like mid-autumn festival and spring festival, we prepare take-home gift bags to employees. They often go back to their hometowns to celebrate these holidays with family members. With mainly primary research, we found out employees felt proud when they came back home with huge gifts from their company. Ms. Wong working in the assembling department said that this showed to her family and relatives in the town that she was working at a decent company. There are, however, employees who choose to stay in Xuancheng where our main factory is located. In this case, we still open our free housing option to them. They often relax in the apartment and play mahjong with peers. 

We truly want to make employees feel like home at Leming and actively take advice from them. 

We care for our community. As a clothes manufacturer originated from the fast-paced development of China, we are grateful to our motherland and the benefits it has brought to us. This includes China’s positive policies like taxation to small businesses, for example. For this reason, we hope to give back to our community. Schools are one place where we show impact. We sponsored students in Jinhua Foreign Language School and Yiwu Arts School with swimming suits and leggings in stock. We choose top-rated schools that satisfy LM’s core value of excellence. Though it was not clever to a profit-making business, we hope to create optimistic impact to the society and spread LM values. 

Moreover, our management team concern about issues like inequality and have done consistent work for the community. For example, Ms. Zhu, our supervisor of Yiwu company, is a member of Hong Kong Children’s Medical Foundation who is helping to provide sustainable healthcare solutions to rural families in China. Field trips to Yunnan, raising donations from events like Google Giving Weeks, and making videos in the rural-urban doctor exchange program are examples of what she has been doing. 

Last but not least, we care for the environment. There are more than one hundred trees planted around our factory and some of them were done by our employees. We encourage them to plant trees and deliver seeds to them. Moreover, we hold seminars every month to increase our employees’ awareness of the environment.
